DarkTiger Tarot

Keyword blending

Pick two or three keywords, set them inside the question's context, say it in plain sentences, end on the card's question.

The method in four moves

A keyword list is not a reading. A reading is a sentence. The method that turns one into the other has four moves.

Pick two or three keywords

Not all of them. The Fool upright carries beginnings, leap, freedom and trust. A question about a new relationship takes trust and beginnings; a question about leaving a job takes leap and freedom. The question chooses the words.

Set them inside the question's context

Every question has a context: love and relationships, money, work, or yourself. The same keyword lands differently in each. Trust in a relationship is trust in a person. Trust in a money question is trust in a landing.

Say it in plain sentences

The keywords disappear into the sentence. Not "the card says trust and beginnings" but "the card shows a beginning entered with trust, and asks whether the reasons you are bracing against belong to this person or to the last one." The picture carries the sentence: the foot over the edge, the eyes on the sky.

End on the card's question

The last line is the card's question, turned toward the person asking. Never an outcome. The Fool's question is what you would start if the step were all that was asked.

The method on the Fool

The Fool's page carries four scenes: a new relationship, a business idea, a job offer in a new field, and starting over at fifty-two. Read how two or three keywords are chosen in each, and how the reversed card turns the words over: recklessness and no landing instead of trust and beginnings.

The method on the Magician

The Magician's page does the same with will, skill, resources, action and communication. Watch the one move the Fool's scenes do not need: the reversed shadow, empty talk or scattered, held in view while the card is upright.

Try it

Take any card page. Choose a context, choose two keywords, write three sentences, and end on the card's question. Which keyword did you leave out, and why?
